In 1995 I found myself in Edinburgh Scotland. The experience of having a McEwen's Heavy 80 hand drawn Ale ruined American mass manufactured beer forever for me. I Was grateful when microbreweries begin to make better beers available. I've been looking for a McEwen's type beer ever since And though I've found some favorites I hadn't found one quite like the ones I had in Scotland. Until I hit Midwest Ale Works and had their Wee Heavy Scottish Ale The first sip had me right back there staring at a cobblestone street and wishing for some North Atlantic cod deep-fried with potatoes in a newspaper wrapper with some brown sauce. Jesus H McChrist it's goooooood, mon!!!
Not a bad sample had, great fun service, great place to spend a few hours with the locals! Building is awesome as well!
Great atmosphere, friendly service, and good beer. East Moline needed this.
Friendly bartenders ยท Great cocktails
Pretty fantastic evening. Ironically enough different circumstances had brought us here for the evening and despite us living really close we didn't even know it existed. Long story short a very quick stop in was extended quiet a bit due to the amazing hospitality of shannon. Truly professional servicing and made a lasting impression on us. At the end of the night we had the chance to meet Clark and he went out of his way to answer all the questions we had regarding the processes and the business adventure. It was truly amazing to see how much passion is there. looking forward to many more trips.
This is a great bar. I did karaoke there once. The owner is really friendly and the bartenders are very down to Earth. Not to mention, it's beautiful in there. I suggest everyone check it out and have one of their fancy beers.
